What a disappointment! All camping grounds on the island were fully booked. Instead we've booked three nights in Norddeich and plan to take the ferry over, at least once, maybe twice. We also need a laundromat, which they have at this site.
As usual we did not take the shortest route coming here but took the more scenic coastal route instead, passing several 'Siels' on our way.
A Siel is a lock, and not only are there thousands of them, but they have also given names to the little villages and towns that have grown around them. Our favourites so far are probably Carolinensiel and Harlesiel, where we would love to spend some more time. Plenty of camping grounds and 'Stellplätze' nearby!
We are now at Womopark Norddeich. Have just finished dinner and are waiting for the first load in the dryer. Life couldn't be better.
Harlesiel. Wouldn't you just love to spend a month or so in one of those houses?

And finally, some German Kuchen!
