Last night
was incredibly hot. We bought two small USB fans before leaving Sweden, and
they have practically saved our sleep this past week. It was OK as long as we
were on the Atlantic Coast, but now that we are more inland it is really hot
again. Not as bad as it was, but 34
C (93.2) is a bit too much for us. Remember, air con is
not common in Europe!
We left
Chateau du Coing and headed east. We had heard of the Caves in Rochemenier
Village Troglodytique (quite a mouthful). Pretty village and lovely lunch, but
we didn’t see the caves since Ivan wasn’t allowed in.
And then –
more winetasting! At Chateau d’Epiré. Excellent wines with a charming gentleman
(the owner) who guided us through the wines. As usual we ended up buying – one
box of red wines and one box of mixed white wines. Didn’t take any photos
though.
He
mentioned a very nice spot in his vineyard with a good view, so off we went.
Bad mistake. It was so hot I almost passed out, and no shade. The view was good
– but I simply couldn’t enjoy it. J even had to go get the car to pick me up
while I waited close to a wall. Must have drunk a gallon of water afterwards.
We are now at
a Stellplatz by a tributary to La Loire. Really nice spot, very well kept – but the
Internet sucks. Tomorrow we go on to Chateau de Villandry www.chateauvillandry.fr
and then –
guess what – some wine tasting in the Saumur area. Have booked two nights at a
camping with a washing machine, Camping Le Jardin Botanique in Limeray.

We had such a lovely view until the idiot on the left parked on what wasn't even a parking spot. Our next door neighbour (also French) stared for 5 minutes straight but idiot camper chose not to understand
