We decided not to take the tourboat to Borkum after all. The island we really wanted to visit was after all Norderney. But since we'd already decided to do that some other time (when we had pre-booked camping of course) we could feel the Moselle Valley tugging.
So after lunch in Greetsiel - I so fell in love with that town - we took the Autobahn south (hate the Autobahn, so boring, but now we really wanted to come down here quickly) and snatched the second to last place at Knaus Camping in Koblentz. We are practically facing the Deutsches Eck, where Moselle joins the Rhine.
We came here by way of Obelink in the Netherlands, said to be the largest store for camping in Europa. They had everything from forks to caravans, I kid you not. We saw some nice things but we don't really have the space for shopping. What centimeters and kilos we can spare, we'll fill up with Riesling wines.
We had dinner at the restaurant on the camping grounds where we chatted with a nice Norwegian couple. For the first time since coming to Germany a week ago we are seeing other Scandinavian tourists.
Tomorrow - if we manage to get going early enough - I would like to check out the castle on top of the rock facing the campgrounds. And after that it's Bernkastel-Kues, for the first time in eighteen years or so. Can't wait.
